What do you want to do? Replace it with something else like LILO or get rid of Linux completely?

I know it's probably heresy in this forum but I want to bin linux off completely (at least until I'm more familiar with it) & put on w2000 - coz I want to install xchange 2000 & build a lab. I 'll probably do the linux thing a bit l8r...

Just go into fdisk and remove all the Linux partitions. Once you've done that, the MBR will be restored to Windows either when you reload it or by issuing "fdisk /mbr".

Bo Selecta - rinse it out...rinse it out!

No but seriously - thanks for that. I'd already binned off the partitions but still couldn't get rid of the grub prompt. I'd tried to get rid of the MBR but doing 'format /mbr' wouldn't exactly work now would it...

Yeah - thanks for sorting the problem & also helping me remember how to format the master boot record.

Cheers dude
