Does anyone know what milo is?

milo is a linux bootloader. I quote
"MILO is the Linux/Alpha bootloader for machines using the ARC/AlphaBIOS firmware. This version compiles against a generic Linux kernel version 2.2.12+. It currently supports the following Alpha platforms:...."
