does anybody knows where i can get unix software,iam new at this and i need help?

I am not sure about UN*X, in its pure form. I recckon you might try AT&T or Berkeley. If it's Linux you want, it's free and you can get distributions at any one of hundreds of web sites. I am not sure if the same applies to UN*X.

The closest thing you can get to UNIX retail wise is either Slackware Linux 7.1 http://www.slackware.com/ or FreeBSD http://www.freebsd.org/.

If you want a form of UNIX, try the Intel-based version of Solaris by Sun Microsystems http://www.sun.com/solaris/binaries/. It cost $75.00 which should run on a regular PC.
