OCA Advice - 9i or 10g ?

| Is there any reason to get OCA certified on version 9i instead of 10g? It seems that the 10g track is easier/faster because it only requires one test (1Z0-042 Administration I) versus the 9i track requirement for two tests (1Z0-007 Introduction and 1Z0-031 Fundamentals). However, there is only one book listed on Amazon for the OCA on 10g and that book isn't released yet. Can anyone offer some advice? | |

| There is currently hardly any information about the Oracle10g certification exams out for studying, as the exam just became live. The books are all due to come out in December in and January. I just passed the Upgrade exam and it was difficult to find information for this.
good luck

| I would not bother with 9i but go straight to 10g.
As far as certification info, Oracle has been pretty tight lipped about it. But the OCA info is now out there on Oracle's website.
The 10g OCP just wrapped up beta-testing, so the actual test should be announced very soon.
Cert books are now available thru Sybex or Amazon. | |

| Hi,
9i seems to be still the most required skillset for jobs compared to 10i or 10g.
Does it make any difference if a newbie like me does a 10i or 10g certification instead of a 9i.
I am from a telecom background (masters)and am aiming towards a DBA cert. Please answer my queries.
thanks in advance! |
