| Hi,
Given that the ORacle 8i is due to become obsolete at the end of this year, can anyone tell me roughly how much effort is required to prepare for and to pass all the Oracle 8i OCP exams?
I have basic familiarity of Oracle PL/SQL and have been using Oracle via Toad for the past 18 months. I would like to get 8i OCP and then migrate to 9i thus avoiding the mandatory class room based course that the 9i requires.
My dilema is that if I do not manage to pass all 8i exams before the end of the year then I will have to re-sit all the 9i exams and go on a course!
It's a bit of a gamble, does anyone have any thoughts on whether it's possible to do all the 8i exams in 6 months a self -teach basis?

| It takes around 2-3 weeks to go through the book (read and review) and get ready for each exam.
Selftest software is a plus for exam prep.
So if you are serious about getting ready and passing the exam you still have time untill the end of the year to get through 8i.

| Thanks, I'll probably give it a try then. | |

| Should'nt be a problem if you keep a focus on it.
I took around 4 - 5mths to complete my Oracle 8i OCP.
Good luck to you. |
