Hi Fellows,

I am trying to prepare for the DBA tests and I need to know, when the 8i going to be invalid.
I am thinking of taking the 8i and upgrade to 9i soon,so I want to by-pass the 9i that required OCP led training class..
Help me out here, crying from the wilderness !!

I have just taken my first OCP SQL/PLSQL 2 months ago. Left with 4 more papers to go.

Oracle have'nt really announced, when, they are retiring the Oracle 8i exam.

But, most ppl will actually go for 8i after that upgrade to 9i. Coz, most of the company will be still using 8 or 8i. Unless, new setup company or company require a new database, they will be looking into 9i.

Hopefull, we are able to make it before the 8i exam retired. Good luck to all of us.

cheers!!!

An Oracle cert will not retire - only the ability to take the corresponding exams. You stay OCP 8i forever.

I read somewhere (can't remember the source) that Oracle 8i exams will retire March 2004. But I found no official statement at oracle.om.
