I bought and am going through a book that I did not know existed until recently:

"Oracle 9i Developer: Developing Web Applications with Forms Builder" by John Palinski from Course Technology (Thomson, who owns Prometric Centers).

This is designed to prepare you for the Forms 9i Developer Certification. But it does so much more. It has you do a project all the way through along with end of chapter questions.

Now, the answers are not in the book for these, but if you are NOT using it to take a course, Course Technology will send you the answers to the end of chapter questions after signing an affidavit that says you are not enrolled in a class.

They are very helpful folks.

ISBN: 0-619-15911-1

It comes with a 2 CD package of Oracle Developer Suite for Windows. Excellent!!!

Although I have taken a course based on 6i, I am starting this book from the front. Very informative and great hands-on.

Don't be just a paper OCP!!!

When a topic or paragraph is new to 9i, the book also flags it.

Thanks, Lexy

I bought this book a couple of months ago when I was looking for a book to 'relearn' forms for Oracle 9i. Anyway 6 weeks later I am OCA certified and about to start my forms revision.

The book I used for 1zo-147 was also by Thomson: Oracle 9i Developer: Pl/sql programming by Joan Castel.

ISBN 061915909
It was overall very good and covered everything, apart from, there could have been more on Large Objects i.e LOBs. However I passed with 85% so it did the job.

Question for Copertop: Could you explain the steps you took to get the answers? I have unsuccessfully contacted customer services for this. They said I needed to prove I was an instructor.

I called them directly.

If you drop me a private note with your email address I will mail you the waiver form that you fax to them for consideration.

I'm not attaching it here because I do not want them inundated.
