| What is everyone's opinion on the future job outlook of a Database Administrator? Do you think demand for our skills will remain high for many years to come? | |

| Hi,
I am a newcomer here, also a newcomer to USA.
I had 4-year DBA working experience(Using Sybase 11.5 & Powerbuilder6.5)in my country. Now I am planing to get OCP certificate for my coming job searching. But I am still wondering is there any hope for a foreigner to find a DBA job in such a economical period? really need your advice.
and could you tell me how to find the textbook for exams?
Thanking you.

| i dont agree about H1B's being low-paid. They actually make descent salaries and with good reason. They offer the many years of experience and high-level of education on the subject that many Americans cannot seem to fill. Dont get me wrong here, i am an American but i speak from my own experience interacting with H1B's working with Oracle. My own instructor that taught me Oracle at a computer school was here on an H1B..and his salary was way over 150K at his full-time job. But then again, he really knew his stuff. | |

| Hello Batmen:
I am not saying all H1Bs are low paid. I saw on ad at NJ, buy one DBA and get one free from one of the Indain agency. Sorry man. That is true. The rates are reduced so much because of this low paid competion especially in Oracle. Employers like it. I have seen this in many of our client sites. Remember always there is a execption. Nothing is 100%. |
