Course:
$1,500 [online]
$2,000 [classroom]

Microsoft should do the same, for MCSE2000, MCDBA2000 and MCSD in order to revive certification prestige and kill braindumpers.

What are you talking about, Mrs. BRAINDUMPER?

You have too many certs... I'm sure you have braindumped lots of those certs.

You have all DBA certs (Microsoft and Oracle)... then CCNP... come on... what do you do in your spare time? braindump CERTS?

You are a LOSER, faldrous.

I'm sure you don't need a job, but we (our company) would never hire you.

Thanks for the news tip Frantic.

I assume this appears to just be for the new 9i cert track. I am about to take my last exam for the Application Developer track, but I didn't find anything about that OCP track and the new rule anywhere on their site.

While, guys relax. braindumps is up to that person. Very very few ppl in the certifications wjorld do braindumps. Or most they go for third party software or guides for help. Is almost the same like braindumping. It does'nt really matter, if we are able to perform our jobs and roles, who cares, you have the certs or without the certs.

I know abt the news. Need to go for one course, before, you are certify for the title. It dun really matter, the most, you have to pay more for the course. Braindump, still can carry on. If the other vendor follow the same trend, then, we have to pay more for those certs.

Okie guys, all the best to your certifications.

I find it ridiculous that a course is now required for certification. I've done all of my test preparation through self-education and hands-on work. I don't like the idea that, to get a 9i certification directly, I have to pay for a course that costs more than all of the test prep materials AND test fees that I have purchased put together.

I understand that there is a movement to make the certifications more acceptable to companies as true qualifications, but making students pay more money isn't the way to do it.

I use CBT's.. these are the SAME ones that you have to go and sit in a class and listen to at my school. I've got Oracle 8i personal on my computer, and wish I would have spent the money for another box to make a network with, instead of blowing the money on "educators" with the personality of a box of corn flakes. The "mentors" can't even do a decent web page, much less answer my questions. People keep forgetting the political aspects of life..and human nature, as it is in fact. I think Oracle wants more money. END of STORY.. that's it.

What If I have already made the OCA?
Do I have to make the course for the OCP?
I do not have a Problem with the course
I have a Problem with the Price!
Thanks

If you're going for the OCP in 9i without already having an OCP in 8i, you're required to take the course.

The rule applies to the 9i cert. My suggestion as a way around it is to go for the 8i cert and then take the 9i upgrade. Anyone that began their 9i cert, by passing at least one exam, prior to the cutoff date (June 15??) is 'grandfathered' in. They don't have to take the extra course. Saves them a couple of thousand $$ at least.
