If anyone knows VB, Please help me write the calculations in VB. I have created the inetrface for the program, I'm having a hard time coding the calculations so that it displays the percentage for each soft drink brand.

The problem is to find the advertising expenditure percentage for each soft drink, cola-cola and Pesi for 1995 and 1996 expenditure and display the percentage for each.

1995 Cola-cola=$60.7 and 1996=$121.6
1995 Pepsi-cola=$94.8 and 1996=$83.0

the book says to use this formula to caculate:100 *([1996 expenditure]-[1995 expenditure])/1995 expenditure.

please help!!!!!

Okay, a couple of questions here...

1. Are you trying to compare the percentage difference in advertising dollars spent between the two companies, or are you trying to calculate how much of each company's budget was spent on advertising for each year?

2. What are the numbers you have listed below? Are these the advertising budget amounts in millions of dollars for each year?

Yes, the amounts are in millions of dollars. it's finding the advertising budget percentage for each soft drink brand.

Okay, but are the amounts shown the money that was spent on advertising? If so, you need the total budget to compare against.

What EXACTLY are you trying to calculate? The total increase in advertising money spent for each company? The amount of advertising money vs. the whole budget? If you're trying to figure out what percentage of the entire budget was spent on advertising, you need to include figures on the total amount spent for each year for each company.
