I'm feeling pretty ambious. I want to get certified in Oracle but are there other certifications that I will need to be a DBA?

Nope.

Complete 8i track, you will be certified in Oracle 8i as a DBA.

If you want to be certified on other RDBMS,
almost all vendors have certification programs of their own - IBM, MS, Sybase, Teradata ....

The two most commonly used enterprise-level databases in the field are SQL Server and Oracle; the Oracle certification is much more desirable. I'd suggest that you concentrate on the Oracle DBA cert, then figure out what you want to do from there.
