| Hi,
I have worked in Oracle 7.3, but since then I didn't work for 4 years and now I desperately want to get into a job in Oracle. To get certified as Oracle8i DBA, it needs 5 exams to complete and I don't think I can do it within a short period( I have a toddler). So, I think of completing Oracle9i OCA which needs only 2 preliminary exams and I hope that would be enough for an entry. What do you suggest? Is it OK to directly jump to 9i without knowing 8i? Please help....... | |

| Personally, i think, getting a OCA, does'nt really help much. Go for the OCP instead.
They are more value in it.
If you are certify for 8i and get a OCA, that's a different case.
I strongly advise, go for 8i. Although, 9i is short of one exam compare with 8i, i dun think, you should have any difficulty doing it. Trust yourself. Most important, find some good training and get some reliable guides to help you pass the exam.
All the best to you. | |

| Hai Meena,
Try for the job first, and prpepare for the OCP 8i exams simultaneously...
You can clear OCP without any probs..
Take Care.

Kumar.
