If you are a certified DBA, is it ok to list your unfinished BSc degree

If you are a certified DBA, is it ok to list your non-db-related experience - gas station

Do you verify experience (do you call or email those companies)

Do you verify degrees (if any)

Do you verify certificates (via prometric)

Actually employers can be very selective ... I have to admit - having the choice I would also prefer someone with experience. Salaries are low - also for people with experience - so it's not a question of budget. But also your personality counts and the style and contents of your application and resume. I read lots of them in my position.

Hi brujo,

some advice from my point of view:

absolutely! It's part of your education.

hmm ... I wouldn't "bore" HR or IT-managers with non job- (or better non-industry) related experience without any relevance to the offered position, except you did it for a long time (and need to mention it to avoid a gap in you job history).

sometimes ... when I can't believe what I read ...

Do you verify degrees (if any)

They are normally attached (copy) to the application and part of the dossier.

yes .. normally during the interview with some related questions. But as a DBA you get a very pretentious certificate and an ID-card
