| Documents on Oralce Site

On the above mentioned site, there a bunch of pdf, all relating to Oracle products. There are also pdf for Admin, Backup&Recovery, Performance Tuning etc. Does anyone if these are good references to study from, for the OCP DBA exam?

| Hey thanks for the link. Looks like good reference material, if you don't understand STS or exam guides. | |

Have you finished your OCP DBA or are you working on it. You see, I want to find out from someone's perspective who has given the DBA exams to see if the material is relevant towards the exam.

| I just finished the 5th Developer Track exam a few weeks ago and I am now studying for the new Internet DBO, which is very easy compared to the developer exams. I went through the whole Sybex book in about two weeks and I am now going through Couchman's DBO book and looking for a second hand copy of the DBOi 1Z0-411 STS.
After the DBO exam I will take the DBA exams and then maybe the Financials. I would really like an Oracle Warehousing certification but I don't think they have a Warehouse track, right?

| MAN!! You're goin' all out!!
Well I don't think there is a Warehousing Certification. But why bother with the DBO if you gonna do the DBA, besides I think the DBO track is gonna be retired soo. Check the Oracle site for details. I just finished the Developer track too, now i am working on the DBA track. I agree, I really enjoy working with Oracle. | |

| Well the reason I am going for DBOi is because I need to make myself as employable as possibe as soon as possible because I am a temporary consultant with absolutely no job stability. The Developer track together with the DBOi track looks a lot better than the Developer track and a few DBA exams under my belt. Also, the DBOi track helps me review the SQL I've already learned and teaches me Tuning, Networking and Backup and Recovery of an Internet website without going into every little nitty gritty boring detail. Also, I don't think the DBA track teaches anything concerning internet web sites. | |

Cool...i really have not looked into DBO...good luck with it...let me know how it goes! I will be looking for an Oracle Developer job this summer, by then hopefully I would have finished my DBA also. Do you know what are the usual requirements for an Oracle Developer, I have the certification but what else would help. Thanks
Cheers! |
