How many triggers can be attached to a table? The book I am reading says 12 triggers, but for Oracle7... Does this hold true for 8i?

Thank you!

YES!

There are 12 types of triggers in PL/SQL that consist of combinations of the BEFORE, AFTER, ROW, TABLE, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE and ALL key words:

BEFORE ALL ROW INSERT
AFTER ALL ROW INSERT
BEFORE INSERT
AFTER INSERT
etc.

I have not worked with Oracle7 but this trigger info is true about Oracle8!

Cheers!

Thank you. I was thinking it should be based on those trigger types.

I am studying for the Program Units exam (hopefully taking in about 2-3 weeks). I guess the book is a bit dated mentioning Oracle7 like that!

I think you just mentioned you got your OCP Developer. How was Internet App II? Which book did you use? I will probably buy the STS as well, but have not gotten any book yet for that exam.

Thanks.

I used the ILT books...they are the best, and they are all you will need! Also the Oracle Press book is not too bad, just that it is not too detailed. Hence the Oracle Press book is recommended for an experienced person. I could not have passed simply based on the Oracle Press book.

Cheers!
