| Hey,
There's nothing hard in Oracle - You just need to study hard. I believe if You have the rigth materials it should be possible to learn OCA by your own.
Well, I recommend get a good book from Sybex or Oracle Press (or both) for OCA exams (007 & 031).
You should also try to get a ILT studyguide and STS practice exams <I have found that those 2 work together very effectively for providing groundwork to take exam>.
And then you should also get some real exam questions <like Testking, real-exams etc.> to after hard studytime make sure to have better chances to pass.
Well thats how I study for an exam pretty much (+ instructor-led training)...
Good Luck! | |

I would suggest reading "Introduction to Oracle9i SQL". Even if You are not going for Oracle it gives You understanding about SQL -which is also used by other databases.
Well You know there are ins and outs in every book. I like OraclePress books because of their "2-minute drills" where everything u need to know about 1 chapter is put to small notes,
And sybex I like because of their "real-world practices" and keyword reviews...
As far as Im concerned - OraclePress books have a lots of shortcomings (compared to ILT) while Sybex books covers almost all material (+ sometimes even more)
I personally use Sybex books for 9i DBA (but I used OraclePress books for OCP Application Developer)
ILT is studyguide issued by Oracle to students who have taken Oracle Instructor Led training courses. |
