while,personally,i think the best study guides for Oracle is their ILT offical studyy guides.
It will teach you everything you wish to know abt Oracle DB Admin from the scratch.
I have checked out books on OCP from sybex and oracle press. They are briefly explain and teach you little on Oracle.
If you follow the ILT books closely, there's more examples and excercise, wish you can try on and hands.
Even, those practise machine which Oracle University installed are all windows boxes.
Try to install it on the windows, from there branch it out to unix and linux.
Most of the real world Oracle are sitting on Sun solaris and HP UX. Not too sure abt other countries. But, this 2 brand are common in Singapore and Oracle is sitting on them.

| You are half correct.
Either go for the course. Or go to www.ebay.com and search for them. Some of the course materials are on sales. You actually can buy it from there.
