Hello,

I'm taking the Forms I exam in one week. I've been using the Oracle Press Application Developer's Exam Guide to study for this exam.

Any insight about this exam that may have not been covered in this book?

Has anyone else taken this exam?

I feel like it will be easier than PL/SQL intro exam, but maybe not???

Thanks!

Did you practice on the Oracle Application Developer software package (The trial Version)?

Yeah, I actually have Form Builder 6 on my machine, but it is just like 5 with a few very minor things I have seen.

I've done a multiple form Project and follwed through all examples. I had the official Oracle classroom guides and have read those completely before the exam study guide, so I feel like I know it very well. Just getting the exam jitters now and worried the exam will turn some obscure way.

I almost bought the STS, but bugged out on that. Just took their practice test and got a 89%

Speaking of this Oracle Developer Exam Guide... Overall, the chapters are great, very organize.

Just dissappointed with the lack of practice questions. The practice test is made up of the end of chapter questions, so I was upset when I got all prepared to take their practice test, only to find out I knew the answer to half of the questions before I even got done reading it fully!

I'll post a book update after the exam, although it seems like mostly DBA's are in this forum!

How can I get this software? This is not on the trial version of Oracle 8i from the Oracle Store. Did you license the software?

How long did you study? How many hours a day?

Is this the Couchman Oracle Developer study book?

I am in an masters program, so I got Developer installed in class.

I try to study at least 2-3 and more hours a day. I'm in the wakeup, work, eat, study, sleep routine that I'm sure many of us are familiar with!

yeah, got the Couchman book. I think it is the only exam guide covering Forms and Reports exams. Even for Program Units, the only other exam book I've seen just came out in like November 2001, but this Couchman book covers that too.

Masters in Computer Science, where? I did Masters in Finance. So what are you going to do with the certification (career wise) when you get it?

I'm in an MIT program. I'll see when I get there with these certs!

So, no one out there has actually taken the Forms I exam?

Thanks.

Hey BHMaooo...

Just out of curiousity. What do u plan on doing with that Masters degree? Do u wanna go into Applications development or are u pursuing that and other things???

Im working on a 2nd bachelors degree in IT and would like to go to Grad school also. Im working on my Oracle 8i DBA Certs (2 more to go)...so I'm curious to know what career path you plan on taking with that Masters degree

Why are you doing a second bachelors degree in IT? What was your first bachelors in ?

I am going for the Oracle Developer certification. Most DBA's start out as developers, so I think there will be more opportunities. By the way, I have a masters in Finance, and may get a second masters in IT.

As to your question...
I have a bachelors degree in Economics and Im almost done with my 2nd degree in Information Systems. Not sure what I wanna go to grad school for yet whether it be business related or IT related.
It was a personal decision to pursue a 2nd bachelors degree. I felt like it would give me the competitive edge that I needed to go out into the workforce with both Business skills and Technical skills...
Another thing Im working on is a Project Management Certificate which is a marketable skill especially in IT.
Im kinda leaning towards also getting Oracle Financials Consultant Certified so both of my degrees will complement each other. My ultimate goal is to someday grow into a Managerial role so we'll see what happens.

Hello Batman,
My BS is in Biology, so when I decided to move over to the IT field, I wanted to have a degree in IT, CS or something and Master's was the next step for me.

I am currently a webmaster, so right now I get to do a little bit of everything on both, which I find pretty cool, so I am really not necessarily looking to go onto to 'something else' after the certs and degree, but I am always open to options!! I definitely prefer programming side of everything though, I love programming!

Batman - your combo will definitely do some good. I think a lot of employers want to have someone who can understand both sides! Good luck to you!
