I need oracle server full version. I understand the full version is on the ocp sybex book, but when I went to amazon, I found this review posted:

"If you are expecting to use the Oracle software included on the CD-ROM, forget it unless you are running Windows NT. The software won't work on other Windows versions (even though the CD-ROM says "Windows 95/98/NT4/2000" on its face). SYBEX contends that the reference to other versions of Windows is only for the digital format of the text itself. I found it very difficult to absorb the material without practicing on the software itself. If you want to pass your OCP, I suggest that you find another course. Don't waste your money on this one. Also, there are a number of errors in the book."

Does anyone know where I can get oracle software to run on Windows 98? Please? I dont have NT! And on Oracle Press' PL/SQL book, they have a web server trial version but thats only for NT too!

Oracle Server doesn't work on the Win 9x operating systems. If you can't get access to NT, you can install the Personal Edition. It doesn't have everything you'll want to study in it, but it will get you started.

I am currently running Solaris 7 on an older SPARC station. Where can I get a version that would be suitable for learning the basics?

Try otn.oracle.com and go to Software -> Downloads (off to the left)
Everything (I think) is available for download for evaluation and development purposes. If they've got something that'll work for you, it'll be there.
