| Hi Guys: I need help in deciding about Oracle Exams and if its certification is worth it or not. Now a new version 9i is coming up, so should I wait or its better to start now. Will appreciate your help.

| IMHO,
It's going to take you a lot of time to study anyway, and at least 9/10 of the material isn't going to change. Personally, I'd go for the 8i certification, and then take the upgrade exam to 9i when it comes out -- then you are certified in both. | |

| I agree, stick with 8i, the initial 9i beta exams are scheduled to be out in Sep/Oct 2001. I'd stick with 8i and then do a 9i upgrade.  | |

| Oracle is trying to push 9i pretty hard. You see it first on oracle's webiste.
but i'd get 8i first or 8 then upgrade. because who wants a 9i certified dba w/o exp | |

| Lots of companies won't be using 9i for a long time. 8i will be around for a while in the work place. At least for another 2 years. |
