Author Which Track To Take??

I have a tiny delimma. I want to get certified in Oracle as a DBA. Problem is, they're changing the format for 9i. So my question to some fellow oraclees (is that a word?) is should I take the 8i or 9i track?

I see it two ways 8i has more help out there in books, training manuals, cramsession, etc available for me to study.

9i is the latest, but doesn't have very much help in the book and training department except from OU. I want to self-study.

Also, with 9i, they've changed the format of the certs.

Oracle Database Associate
Oracle Professional Database Administrator
Oracle Database Master

If you do the 8i track with the 9i upgrade, where does this put you?

Thanks to anyone who answers, I really appreciate the information.

Chris,

I have been advised to take the 8i exams because most companies are still using that and like you mentioned, you have more materials and text to study and use. Later on, you can always upgrade to 9i.

Especially if you are self studying like myself, you may find more info on the web on 8i than 9i.
