| I dont know what has happened to this site. I know everyone on here doesnt just want to swap cheetsheets at least I hope not. Is there anyone who is interested in studying together online I am currently studying for my database administration exam 1Z0-013. | |

| Why do you study 013... 1z0-01* will be retired March 2002
Oracle8 and then 1z0-020?
020 is a pain
why not 1z0-001, 023, 024, 025, 026
"8 is easier than 8i" -----> WRONG

| Hi,
I'm actually working on Arch and Admin (1Z0-023) ... without cheets ;-)

| I meant 023 not 013. I guess no one is interested in really studying. | |

| hmm .. I'm not no one ...
I had the same ideas just a few days ago (see subject 8i exam) - but it's hard to find studying colleagues here ...
I don't even know if people really swap cheets here - they just want to do and if no one answers they try another site.

| Most people on this forum have lives. I know I want to learn the material as quickly and as efficiently as possible and any aids to that end are gratefully used. | |

| I have a life too. What I would like to do is bounce some questions back and forth. I have the full sts series but Im not going to just study that and take my certification tests I would like to know the material throughly as well. | |

| Me too. Plus a job and permanentely doing overtime... But I always knew that it wouldn't be easy to get this cert. So I agree with sallyjrs - it is very important not only to memorize STS or cheets. I want to understand all this stuff thoroughly.
So I would appreciate it to discuss intersting topics here or via mail: laloca@warum.net

| I don’t think anybody would argue about the importance of understanding I know I would not. However there are 2 parts to this,
1 the need to develop understanding.
2 the need to memorise a lot!!! of facts.
So lets face it the less time we need to spend on 2 the more that’s available of 1.

| There is another factor:
Everything you understand can be "reproduced" also after a long time but memorized stuff is mostly shortterm.
I made the SQL - PL/SQL exam in August and forgot so many details since then. Now working on Arch and Admin I need to repeat quite a lot because I only memorized the stuff for the exams day. OK - it's hard, but a good experience.
But what will one answer in a job interview for a dba position lacking a real understanding of Oracle?

| It took me 1 yr to get the SQL exam.
And it's about 1yr now and I'm trying for the Admin exam. I only can study 1 hr before and after work.
