It is fairly obvious you don't know anything about this topic as there is no such thing as Oracle Developer 8i. FYI, Oracle8i refers to the RDBMS, and Forms 6i/Reports 6i refers to what used to be Developer 6.0. Try reading a lightweight books such Oracle DBA 101 to get an idea of what you're facing. It doesn't come easy, and it doesn't come free.

The certifications for App Dev are:
Oracle Developer Release 2
Internet Applications Developer (Oracle Forms Developer Rel. 6/6i)
Oracle Java Developer

The DBA track follows the DB release numbers, for example 8 or 8i

is a good place to start for details.

"Developer 8i" term is OK, because all Developer programmers are using Oracle 8i, PERIOD.

You must be kidding. You can use Oracle 8.1.6, for example, on Solaris 2.6, Solaris 7 and Solaris 8. You can use Developer 6.0 ONLY on Solaris 2.6. After that, you need Forms & Reports 6i for Solaris 7 and 8. Do a search on MetaLink for "Developer 8i." Look on OTN for any reference to something called Developer 8i. You won't find anything for the simple reason there is no such thing as Developer 8i. Also, "all Developer programmers are using Oracle 8i" is incorrect. There are lots of places still using 7.3.4, and some are using 9i. So, no, it is not okay to say Developer 8i.
