Hi,
My employer is using Metaframe. I am a newbi to Citrix and want a certification in it.
Which paper should I study for, any suggestion.

ok.. jsut visited their website,

looks like CCA is the starting point,
Now there are many version of this i.e.

MetaFrame XP Presentation Server, Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 for Windows, or Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server for UNIX.

Do we choose a single version or do we get to sit all the exams seperately.

My employer, mostly use Win platform.

So am I lookin at the XP Presentaion Server.

I would certify in the version of MetaFrame that your employer is using. If they are on the Windows Platform that could be either MetaFrame XP or MetaFrame 1.8.

MetaFrame 1.8 - exam 218
MetaFrame XP - exam 221 (exam 220 was recently retired)

hi,

well metaframe xp has nothig todo with windows xp.

go for the metaframe xp exam. 1.8 is quite outdated

that changes my mind to exam 221.

Hi Adorik, you seem to have done CCNA, how is CCA compared to CCNA .. i mean study wise, time spent etc.

Any links to study materials would be appriciated (book names etc.)

CCNA has nothing to do with Citrix, that is a Cisco cert. By all accounts its not that hard to pass so i will be attempting that soon. Back to Citrix, The CCA for metaframe 1.8 is fairly easy, I passed in 20 mins with a score of 88%, but i did study hard for it and have a fair amount of experience in setting up and admin of Metaframe 1.8.

Try M/F 1.8 first, and see how you get on, the XP exam by all accounts isnt as easy!!!!

For study material, get yourself Kazaa Lite, and download study material, tons of it out there.

hi

well i think mf 1.8 is a waste of time. i am working as a systems engineer and only one of our customers has 1.8.

install a windows 2000 server with a metaframe xp trail (you can get that from a local company that sells citrix or from thier website. the trail is for 90 days and 99 users i think) then play around with it ... read the administrators guide carefully ! at least read it twice. all citrix exams i took were close to the free documentation on thier website.
