I'm currently studying for my MCSE. I have the MOC for each of the tests, but would like additional reading. Can anyone recommend some good books or bad books to stay away from?

I'm taking:
70-210, 70-215, 70-216, 70-217, 70-218, 70-219, 70-220 and 70-227.

Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I think beside MOC, your 2nd set should not be certification specific... more general OS technology.

books to think about,

w2k resource kit by mspress.

w2k administrator's companion by mspress

active directory blackbook by coriolis (or whatever the publisher is now)

not sure what number security is, 220? may try win2k security handbook by osborne.

use the MOC to address specific exam topics and use these other books to understand, view exams objectives etc from a different perspective... and you will also find these books much more practical in terms of getting you to be able to function in your job role administering w2k.

these are great books and definitely worth looking into... for example, w2k admin companion, 1500 pages worth of goodness, can be had from amazon's zshop for 4.69... get it if not just to look good in your tech library...

My suggestion is Microsoft press, Sybex and, exam cram books, read the exam cram 2 weeks before you take the exam. Im also gonna go for MCSA and this what I plan to buy. Then if you could purchase transcenders that would be good too. with these materials Im pretty sure you have a high right rate of passing with this study materials. When I buy books I always buy used books that way i could save up some money too.
