I was looking at 5 packages for 4 MCSE core books. Below is what I came up with; publisher/company of book followed by the book cover's color.

1.) IT Professional (Purple colored book)
2.) Exam Prep (Red cover color red book)
3.) Sybex (Black/Red)
4.) Exam Gear (Blue)
5.) OsBourne (Orange)

Anybody use any of this material? Any preference on which is best? Or do you know of better?

All input appreciated!

I am using the New Riders books for the 2000 track. They are ok but have some spelling mistakes and missing words. Their step by steps are good, as well as their test engine. I dont think there is an actual exam book that covers every nook and cranny of an OS, they just cover what is on the curriculum. The only thing I do not like about the New Riders is that they hardly show you the corresponding command line tools to their GUI counterparts.

I use Microsoft training kit and Sybex for 70-215. The training kit is more detailed but boring. On the other hand Sybex is more simble and less complicated. I think it gives a lot of help for novices.
