| In fact, they go hand in hand very well together. The lab manual really works much like an in-class exercises for the students to work through. The best thing when going through the lab manual is to actually have a spare PC to plumb around in. Most individuals can do practically all the exercises, but not everyone will have spare SCSI drives and controller cards laying around.
Follow the exercises (getting hands on) and answer lab manual questions which reinforce concepts. Note, there isn't any big exam at the end of the manual, but there are plenty of questions throughout the book in the exercises.
Most people don't really need this book, but if you want to follow structured exercises for some hands on experience, its not a bad buy. | |
