| Anybody know of any good i-Net+ books out there? Also I am studying for my A+, would Net+ be a better choice to go for next or, does it depend on the person's likes or intrest in certs?

| for I+, use David Groth's book (the big/thick one); combined with the guide w/c u can find in this site, u WILL pass the exam. | |

| I have the Groth Study Guide and the i-Net+ Certification Study System by Joseph Byrne. It's an IDG book. I like the way the IDG Study System books are written over the Sybex. But the Sybex book offers much more in depth detail on specific subject matter.
As to which to take after A+ - the majority of us seem to have chosen the Net+. After finishing both of those, you will have almost 60% of the required knowledge towards the i-Net+. (this stat comes from an article in CertMag detailing the CompTIA exams - in case anyone was curious ). | |

| Hey QueensDelight,
I would recommend to purchase the books from:
www.bookpool.com
They have great discount prices for IT books.
Good Luck on your I-Net+ Journey,

| Thanks man, but Im not going to start yet. Starting out with my A+, then moving to Net+. I asked because at the time I just looked into to i-net+, and thought I would try that next, but I get alot of advice from this board and people in general, about taking A+, then Net+, to get ready for i-net+, or MCSE So I guess, my route will be A+, Net+.
But thanks man.
Keep them coming
What's your plans XF? | |

| I am taking my A+ Hardware Examn on August 30th, and the OS exam sometime in september. I am planning to purchase ExamCram through BookPool.com , since the only resource I have is Mike Meyers All In One A+ Book. ExamCram will be a very good overview of what I am learning from Mike's book.
After that, I am jumping to Network+, and probably take the test around January. After finishing Net+, I am thinking of getting into MCSE.
That's my plan.

| By the way, at www.bookpool.com you can find IT books about anything. They are not only about I-Net+. So next time you buy a book, buy at bookpool.com. You can find discounts up to 50% of the publisher's price.

| Yea, I went to bookpool, what's up with the A+ Certification Lab Manual? Is that a good study guide for A+?

| Are you talking about the Mike Meyer's A+ Manual from McGraw Hill?
I checked it out at the local bookshop the other day, and I think it's kind of interesting. It gives you handson exercises, like for example, you have to install a new sound card, what are the steps?
Personaly, I think If you have read Mike's All in One, and ExamCram you would not need the Lab Manual. That's just another way that they want to take your money. I know a lot of people that have passed the A+ only by using Mike's All In One A+ Book, and that's it. So the Lab Manual it's not a MUST HAVE.
I am in the procces of getting the A+ myself, and I think the Lab Manual, will not make the difference If I pass or not, so there is not reason to waste another $20.00.
You are the one that are going to make that decision, so good luck.
