Author: Joseph J. Byrne

Has anyone used this book for Net+? It's by IDG books (now known as HungryMinds). The author was directly involved in developing the exam objectives.

I just picked it up this afternoon and I like the way it's written. I used similar book set to prepare for the A+. These books are white with a silver stripe down the middle of the front cover and navy blue writing. I highly recommend the A+ set by Ted Chandler.

I used Chandler's book for the DOS portion. I thought it was pretty good.

I liked Chandler's books alot! Since completing the A+ I have pretty much loaned/given most of my materials away to aspiring techs. The one set that stays with me always is the Chandler books. They are the easiest to grab for a quick reference and written quite well.

Now that I am half way through the Network+ Certification Study System - I must say it's a good read. Not as overwhelming as the Myers book - though I still refer to that one when Study System book is light on detail. I wouldn't rate it as high as the A+ series by Chandler but darn close.

I am a book junkie and am currently working on Net+ with a combination of 4 books and lots of online resources. Also using CBT by TestOut.

I used David Groth's books for the Net+ and i-Net+, had more of a variety for the A+, but for reference I usually use Scott Mueller's book.
