| Hi everyone,
I have a few question that needs some answers.
What is the total amount of exams one needs to take in order to upgrade from NT4 to Win2K?
I'm a bit confused with the whole the deal.
What is the best strategy?
Please help! | |

| You need a total of 7 exams...unless you do the 240, in which case you need 5.
First, you need 210, 215, 216, and 217, or the 240.
Next, you need one of the 3 design exams (219, 220, or 221).
Then you need two active electives.
That's why, when I did my NT track, I did Proxy Server 2 and Exchange 5.5 for my electives. They're still active, and they count toward W2K MCSE.
I've decided to do the core four separately, instead of the 240 (although I may try the 240 on a lark). So, in my case, if I don't do the 240, I need to do 5 exams to be a W2K MCSE.
Hope this helps | |

| HI,
THANKS FOR REPLYING BACK MUCH APPRECIATED.
ANOTHER QUESTION.
WHAT IF YOU JUST DID THE 70-240 WITHOUT THE OTHER ELECTIVES?
WHAT DOES THAT QUALIFY YOU TO BE?

| Duh...I can't count. I'm on mountain time, and it's too early.
It's either 7 (if you do the individual core four) or 4 (if you pass the 240).
Sorry for the confusion.

| Mabe this will help as well. I'll use myself as an example. Here's my list of exams in order for me to be MCSE 2000. I've done the core for MCSE NT4 so:
240, 220, 70-081, and 70-088.
If I don't pass the 240 exam (cross your fingers ), then my exams will be:
210, 215, 216, 217, 220, 70-081, and 70-088.
Just as an aside. I think the migrating exam(70-222) would be a good thing to put on my resume so I'll probably take that one as well.
Hope that helps. | |
