| How much study time should I give myself for this one? This is my last of my MCSE 2000 upgrade.
I was thinking of possibly writing the 218 or something after just to get the MCSA.
I bought the MS training kit for this one today.
|
| it is hard to say how much time you need without knowing you better.
In would say that a month to 90 days sounds about right, depending on how much you can study every day...
As for the 218, you will kill that test if you have already taken the 215, 216 and 217 tests

| I think I will probably take the month, it's been harder to find time to study these days. Depends what kinds of dates the testing centres here have available too. None of them open on Saturdays anymore.
I only studied for about 4 days total for the 217 once I actually sat down and studied for real. Passed that one this morning.
Usually I take about 1 month to 6 weeks per subject. I tend to retain what I read fairly well.
Maybe I should take the 218 first? That way I have that cert too. Hmmm, something to consider.
Can anyone tell me what to expect of this exam? I have heard it's a bit different.

| a good thing about taking the 218 now is that all that material is still fresh in your mind. You can probably just walk in and take it... | |

| Hey, Tornado!!! Congrats!!! Set your date filter back to the beginning and browse back through the last 4-6 months. There is good info in the thread and people always tend to respond to posts here, so use it up!
I am currently studying for 70-214 Implementing Security beta, due 10-17 at 1:15 pm. Just got through massive review of topics pertaining to security, from 216,217 and 220. Plus a full review of 802.1x security (most features available in 802.11a wireless networking components.)

| nah, I was just goofing with the kids. They love to play with hats like that... and for me to do the same
And since I am talking about the kids, it's only fair enough that you see my little Patriots Fans too!

| Took this one about a couple of months ago to finish off my MCSE. Took about 6 weeks to prep for it. I posted a thread about the exam a while back, might be worth your time to look it up. Take your time doing the exercises in the study guides, and be sure you understand them.
See if you can find a copy of "Windows 2000 Security Little Black Book" published by Coriolis. An excellent aid.

| Freak, cute offspring. If mine sat in my lap now I'd be crushed: son 18, daughter 16 both got my big bones. | |
|
| thanks. Those two guys and their mama are my pride and joy. I would be lost without them! Speaking of which, it is time for their bath | |

| Great pics there Freak, it's nice to be able to faces to the names of the people who are so helpful to me during my stressful exam filled days. I booked this one for November 12. I figure that should give me enough study time.
Hey Jeff, how'd ya do? | |

| '71-214' has quite a respectable pool of questions. 90 of them to be exact and you will be best served by doing alot of hands on for this one. That is what I focused on, Just hope I got far enough through it. |
