| Awesome news!!! Glad to hear of your success.
221 was more difficult for me than 219, but that depends on experience I guess. I used Examcram book for this, but there is a lot of info in the Deployment Guide for this as well. New topics outside of 216 material include interoperability with SNA, UNIX and Macintosh. Transcenders and other trial practice exam material I have listed previously prepared me for this one.

| Congratulations!
How long have you estimated that it will take to pass 221?

| 4 weeks is what I took. Lab time... | |
| me? I dunno... 2003-02-28, 9:58 pm |
| Hi Jeff,
Is that a frustrating 4 weeks?
actually, to qualify that, I was unsuccessfully trying to configure a shared key at the time, fortunately the problem has since been repaired. I think this part is going to be more fun than the active directory section, just got that feeling...

| Jeff,
4 weeks it's perfect.
Put college on the second plan during this time.
I bought Sybex for 221. Anyone used Sybex for 221?
Thanks Me I dunno?!!!

| Congrats Djalminha!
How much time did you have at the end of this exam?
| jeff_j_black 2003-03-01, 8:00 am |
| One thing I wad doing while working to finish MCSE: Riding the bus to work.
This gave me three hours a day for reading. It seems I always have time for lab, but it is hard reading a 700-800 page book in a month for me.

| l9nux,
Roughly, 1 hour.
I had 30 minutes of extra time, because the non-english speaker, living in a non-english country bonus.
Thanks by the way!
Jeff,
I planning to read weakness points from Sybex.
And practice with Transcenders, readiness review and hands on practice.
I'll schedule to design and implement network scenarios at my college network. Do you have any good scenario? Hehehehe...

| I did a test of Active Directory Migration Tool, ADMT free from Microsoft, to work through a migration from Master NT Domain model with trusting Resource Domains, to a single AD 2k Domain. Good practice scenario. Technet is full of good lab ideas, look for How To guides in each resource kit. I'd follow up on security issues including update management. On the same lab above, I used Software Update Services, MBSA and HFNETCHK, which you can easily run in batch files for network scanning and logging. | |
