Hi,

Is anybody there? Whohooo?!? Anyone...

I'm kidding...

Anyone used the Readiness Review for 219? I'm also using Transcenders.

My scores in the practice test are deceiving me. I already read Chapter 9, 2 times.

Your scores are too low or too high?

jeff,

I've got in the 5 CS's - respectively - 46.15%, 50%, 46.15%, 61.54% and 78.57%.

I'll start to use Transcenders next weekend... Hey, for those who'll take this exam Technet has o lot of useful material about AD Design...

Thanks jeff!

So how are you doing on the interactive questions? Those are weighted pretty heavily.

Jeff,

Actually, I just read the book... I'll practice with the eletronic assesment test after using Transcenders.
By the way, what do you think about Transcenders for 219?

I only used the free trial version, compare it to the free trial version of 219 at T e c h s k i l l s.com. I liked that one more.

Thanks jeff...
I'm planning to take this one in 2/14, but i'm not sure at all.

me? I dunno...

Hi All, I'm going to try this one next also.

Jeff, I have downloaded the Techskills free demo, I would like to clarify some of the terminology.

I beleive its the 4th question in the first scenario asks 'How many forests and domains should you create for You go! corporation?'

the answer is shown as 'one forest and three domains', I am assuming they use the term 'forest' to refer to the forest root domain, and then 3 child domains, one for each site. so there are actually 4 domains being created.

Also, how does one get around the problem of having the forest root domain appearing to be a child domain of the internet namespace. how can the forest root be subordinate to the internet namespace and still be the root. are there not trust issue problems with transitive trusts between the private network and the public namespace?

I used tranceder for about two weeks and all it did was get me used to the format. Most of the Questions are very easy if you've taken 217

me? I dunno...

I don't have it loaded up right now to see what the actual scenario is.

In terms of transitive trusts, you would still have entire control over group memberships and permissions from one domain to the next, so this is not as big of an issue as it might sound.

You can make a forest with an empty root domain, or the root domain of your domain tree can also serve as the forest root. Forest in this context is a container, containing whatever domains and domain trees you establish.

Example: a single AD domain is still a forest. So you would have one forest and one domain.

Another example: My workplace is getting ready to implement AD. They are going to have an empty root domain (populated by enterprise and schema admins), a domain for the public namespace (website), and a domain tree with a child domain for each continent that they have offices in.

So it would be entirely possible that you could have the answer that was given: one forest, three domains, with the first domain or the root of the domain tree acting as the forest root as well.
me? I dunno...

Clinton, I dont have the transcenders option but thanks.

Jeff, Okay good, I'll just keep going through chapter 9 and 10 then, sounds like most of the stuff is in there.

If you have any kind of demo of how the test is set up will help no need to spend the $$ on trancender. Goodluck

Thanks again, I see how that style would be a little intimidating at first, but it shouldnt be to bad. One thing I am surprised at is the deployment planning guide, for once I am beginning to actually enjoy the reading! I have been through chap 9 and 10 twice each with enough time between now and the test to go through them once more each.

Think I'll read a couple of the earlier chapters too, seeing as I'm having fun anyways...

I've yet to take this one, maybe on 2/28 but not certain yet. Should i skim the bulk of the story (case study) or first read it for every little detail and then attempt to answer the questions. i've always skimmed material and the went back to double check my answer, but like i said i've never taken this format before. advice???

I skimmed the All tab for key words then read the questions. Some questions are very easy and some of them I had to review the case a couple times.

thanks for the tip! i'm reviewing the transcender free trial right now and that's definately the way to go. too much detail in the case study to memorize at once. can't wait til this one's over...

There are a lot of dead giveaways in the case study. Just know when to use an ou, domain, site, etc. I had an easier time with this one than the 217.

Hi,

Man, I'm drowning...

I got 595 on Transcenders. 80% in the first case study, 81.8% in the second, 44.4% in the third and 0% in the last one.

College start this week, and study sessions is over...

Jeff,

DNS I guess... But, after the last result, humm.

I'll review today all night long my answers. I'll post some points from Readiness Review and Transcenders.
