Is 70-219 similiar to 70-217 or is there a lot of stuff that need sto be looked into in more detail

is dificult to compare to other exams.

217 concentrates on AD and Management/Admin, use of group policies, etc.

219 deals with understanding how to actually design and plan for a Windows 2000 Active Directory Network. (by microsoft's rules)

You have to understand material from the Core 4, NT 4.0, and AD enabled apps like exchange, and how all the pieces should be implemented to support AD.

The test is case study-based, so you might need to get a good prep guide like the Microsoft Readiness Review books, or examcram, etc.

I took both of these exams on the same day. The unlying material for both exams is identical. The difference is the way the questions are asked.
