| Apparently you get four scenarios of different companies and you have to read through details of the company and the answer questions on the implementation of the Active Directory network.
A lot of 217 involved but from a design and implementation aspect. Knowing where to use the different types of Active Directory structures.
Hope this helps as I have the exam this month.

| Clintax & Lexy,
Best of luck to both of you. I am in the final stages of testing right now for this exam as well. I hope to book a date within the next week or so.
Lexy,
I thought I heard that you could get anywhere between 4 to 6 case senarios with anywhere from 8 to 12 questions per case? Am I wrong? Is it definitely only 4 scenarios? What other info can you provide?
Clintax,
Let us know how you did and what to expect. It would be appreciated. Thanks

| RUSH2112, from what I've heard you only get four scenarios. People whom have taken the exam have confirmed this. If anyone knows otherwise can they please let us know.
I'm going through my 217 notes and revision of chapter nine (The now infamous chapter nine) which in all honesty looks to be a great preparation. And can be found at:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/tr...rt3/chapt-9.asp
Thanks to the guys on here for that link.
I wish you all the best in the exam. I hear you get a score for this one and not a pass/fail but a pass is still a pass at the end of the day.

| Hey Guys:
Yes you get 4 case studies with 7-12 questions each. MS rotates between 6 case studies. That's why some will have 40 questions and others, like me, will have more. I had 44 questions. Minimum passing score is 613 with about 3 1/2 hours to do it in. It took me a whole 1 1/2 hours to do it.
Good Luck all! | |

| Thanks again for the information, especially the passing score and allowed time. I thought that you had four scenarios but I couldn’t comment as I have yet to sit the exam.
How is the revision for 218 going?

| About not passing, I'm sure you'll fly through it next Tuesday. Was the information about content and scenarios correct?

Don't worry about not getting it first time, now you know what to expect and the format of the exam. The advantage is yours.
I'm sure you'll pass. | |

| Lex:
The study for 218 is going.....slowly. We're in the middle of Finals week here at school. Lots of grading and such. Next week I'll hit the books again and still hope to take it before month's end.

| Thanks to all who posted replies. I am in the final stages of testing. I am scoring between 600 and 700 right now. While that is an acceptable passing grade for MS right now, I will not book the exam until I am scoring between 800 and 900. I am anxious to get this exam over with as I am starting to see the light at the end of this long tunnel I have traveled.
Anyone have any suggestions after 70-219? I just have 70-216 and 70-224 left. I was thinking about 70-224 next, as it will be a nice ex"change" of material. I want to save the beast for last, as it will require more intensive and extensive preparation. Anyone see it differently?
| Sexy Lexy 2002-08-14, 4:55 pm |
| I would suggest 216 first.
I thought about taking 216 last to end on a high note for the MCSE but considering that this is one of the hardest exams in the track I decided to study hard, revise and get it out of the way so that the hardest one wouldn't be the last.
If I'd of failed it the first time, no indication on my weak areas and I didn't want to get disheartened on the last exam after going through all the others.
Hope this helps.

| Agree Lex. I just passed 216 today and next on my list is 219. What seems to be the hot material to prep for this one? What's the best way to get used to the design format of case studies?
216 was a gut check - I can see how many fail it the first time - Thank goodness I didn't

Which is a link to another link (?). Zaraspook entered a reply about half way down in this thread that can be found in the 219 forum the link is entitled:
Chapter - 9 Designing The Active Directory Structure.
Everything you need to know about the design concepts tested in 219 are there.
Hope this helps.
With the same revision window I'm hoping to take this exam soon to finish off my MCSE.
Good luck to you in this exam.

Thanks for your input. I agree that 216 should be next after my 219, but I strongly believe that if I get 224 out of the way, I will have tons of time to really focus on 216. Plus Exchange will be a nice "different" break from the "core" exams. I don't know, I think that if I attempt 216 and fail, then it would deaden my spirits to try again so easily. I figure if 216 is my last exam, then if I fail, I only have the 1 exam to complete for MCSE, so I am not so hesitant to "back-off", not to mention it would be a much sweeter reward to cap of the MCSE, tackling the beast that is. Well I still have time to decide. I am sort of on a "tentative" deadline with these exams too. Hopefully 219 on Aug. 23rd, then 224 on Sept. 9th. I want to be an MCSE by Oct. 30, so that gives me about 2 months of intensive studying for 216. Well enough about the future, have to worry about the present right now. Onward and upward with my 219 testing. Thanks again for your inputs. It is appreciated. Best of luck to everyone with their next exam(s).

Yes, I saw this thread already a couple of days ago while studying for 70-219. Thank for reminding me about it. It will come in handy.
