| This was not bad at all. Passed with an 899 (how they came up with that odd score.....)
The best tip I can pass along is to know cold when to create a forest vs tree vs domain vs OU vs site.
Some folks said don't use the tabs at the tops of the cases - I disagree, I found them a way to segment the thoughts.
I studied for 217 and 219 at the same time - depending on where I was and what study material I had with me. I realized last week I was very comfortable with the big picture (being a Novell person also) but not so much the little picture, so I took this exam first. Worked for me. On to 217 in a week or two, then just 216 and I am done.
Not bad for an old lady! | |

| awesome job and thanks for the tips!
I also studied for those two tests together... kinda. I basically prepared for the 217, passed it, and went straight to the 219 while it was still all in my head

| Congratz!
How long did you study for?

| Elapsed time is several months for both 217 and 219, but have no idea how many hours spent really. Like other folks, I have full-time job and family so I sneak the time in whenever I can. Never go anywhere without a book! Study while daughter is taking a violin lesson, riding lesson - rather than dropping off/picking up I just stay around and find somewhere to study. See lots of other parents doing the same thing. get up ealy in the am, or stay late at night. Hide out a luncha and study (though that doesnt work well for me).
Would like hints from other busy people.

| I found that I just have to dedicate time to study. With my busy schedule it's hard. I usually devote time on weekends too. My wife hates it because if we go somewhere on Saturday, count me out for going somewhere on Sunday, also. Oh well, 2 more and I promised her I'd take a little break from studying. | |

I can definitely empathize with your situation. Your Life seems to mirror my own. However, some mysterious force keeps reminding us that we must remain diligent and press on.

What is the cut-off score for this exam? Do they still give scores for this exam? I know 70-216 and 70-217 are only PASS/FAIL. Also I know thta 70-224, the passing score is 755 (if they haven't changed it). Any input would be appreciated, as I only have 4 more (216,217,219,224) for my MCSE. Thanks

| I just took 219 May 31 and the pass score was 613. It was not that hard if you know the concepts from 217. I was worried at first with the low 613 & 215 min time but I was out of there in 90 minutes with a 917 score. | |

| From what freak says it's the same as 217 but from a different perspective, what are the scenario's that I have heard about?

| The scenarios open in a tabbed window that lets you review the current situation, interviews from management and IT personnel and the desired result. Typical scenario has about 5 screen pages of information, some of it is extraneous. It is typically best to read the scenario in the 'all' tab that combines the various details. After reveiwing this inforamtion you will have to answer 7-12 questions on this collection of information. There are alot of place and drop questions in the design exams, at least 2 per scenario. They are scored pretty heavily against the test, so it is wise to do well on the place and drop questions. Your best prep for this exam (219) is a chapter from the 2k reskit on AD Design and there are several free trial practice exams that are more than adequate prep for this one. | |

| Superb information there, thank you for the advice. I didn't realise that 219 was a chore rather than an exam but at least I have an idea what to expect.
Hope I do well this week then it's on to 219 straight after.

| If I made it sound difficult, it's not! 219 was by far the easiest of all the exams I took. The design exams, in general are easier, because they just test your knowledge of the various topics in a different way. 40 design questions are way more fun than 65 'do you remember?' questions. I took all of the design exams 219, 220 and 221. 220 and 221 were more difficult by minor degrees, but 221 especially introduces some new material over the 216. 220 and 221 both have more place and drop questions than 219, which can really skew your scoring if you are not prepared. | |

| I agree, 219 was easy and fun. Reading the case, throwing out the fluff, and then getting questions that are like "Duh!". Be careful with the drag-n-drops though. I had 4 case studies and 44 questions. There are apparently 6 case studies that MS juggles around with each having a different amount of questions. That's why one person will have more or less questions than the next person. |
