Q. How many questions?
A. 40. approximately. It may differ depending on the combination of scenarios you get.
Q. What is the passing score?
A. 613.
Q. What score could I expect to get?
A. Around 900. Very few get 950+.
Q: How long is the exam?
A: You may see 2 different times for an exam. The longer is the Seat Time and includes time for preliminary matters such as the practice test and any surveys or questionaires Microsoft may append to the test. The shorter is the Test time which is how much time is allotted for you to complete the actual test. The Seat time is 240 minutes and the Test time limit is 215 minutes.
Q: What is the format of the exam?
A: You are presented with case studies and then asked a series of questions about each. The questions can be single selection, multiple selection, or Drag and Drop.
Q: How many case studies do you get at the exam?
A: 4.
Q: How many case studies are there?
A: 6.
Q: What are the case studies?
A: The cases studies are:
Fabricam. Generally 12 Questions, although there have been reports of a 13th & 14th question.
Hiabuv Toys. 9 Questions
General Business Consultants (GBC). 12 Questions
Trey Research. 9 Questions
Proseware Corporation. 8 Questions
A.Datum (or Adatum) Corporation. 7 Questions

A Special Note:
On January 5, 2002 Microsoft changed the format of this exam. Changes included:
1. The Seat Time was extended to 5 hours and the Test time was extended to 4 hours 40 minutes.
2. The number of scenarios was increased to 5. Of these scenarios 4 were from the old 6 mentioned above and 1 was a new scenario.
3. Aproximately 12 new scenarios were introduced.
4. Once you finished a scenario and moved to the next you could not go back.
5. The exam mark was given as a Pass/Fail. This is in keeping with Microsoft's stated policy of providing only Pass/Fail results for all of its exams.
The new exam format was discontinued in late January or early February 2002. It may have been because of problems with the test centres. So you are WARNED to remain vigilant and continue to monitor this forum for information about any changes in the format to the exam. Remember that in North America you have until 7 PM Central Time the night before your exam to cancel and reschedule it without penalty.
