Ode to failure . . .

I can't believe it I had this fat guy next to me kept coughing every 5 freakin’ minutes, talk about distracting. I know I should've passed this the first time. By the time I finished my test I felt like I was gonna knock him out . . . . .

Not really! Hope you enjoyed the Parody!

Passed, after months (literally months) of preparation and revision. A very well designed exam and quite a difficult one as well, it tests not only your knowledge of active directory but it also prepares you for the real world implementation as well.

There should be more exam like the design exams as they test your applied knowledge of the subject not just straight forward question and answers.

This was the first exam of the 2000 track where I’ve had to agree to the non disclosure agreement. I guess they are cracking down again.

Thanks go to Freak, Tribo (A very smart woman indeed), Zaraspook for encouragement and of course Pavlov for her continued support (She's an angel) my final exam was for you hun as I am now MCSE 2K.

Apologies for the title but I needed something to beat my last post in the 218 forum entitled "Free Sex!" I doubt this will get more than two thousand views though!

Thank you for all of your support for this exam.

I thought that it was a very hard exam, the revision paid off thankfully.

Talking to one of the guys who works at the testing centre and most of the Microsoft exams have been or will be updated with extra questions to keep the difficulty level high, such as the 219 was updated several weeks ago.

My advice for anyone taking 219 shortly is don't underestimate this exam, five scenarios with pass or fail.

Thanks again Pav.

I knew that if I kept checking this forum everyday, that one day you'd eventually decide to get off your duff and take this damn exam! Finally! I was beginning to think you'd never take it! Congratulations! It's about time!

Great job, Lexy! Bet your glad to get it over with! Welcome to the MCSE 2K club man! I'm real happy for you, and best of luck with the Cisco certs!

Sorry it took so long.

I decided to get XP out of the way instead of 219. Then, I installed exchange 2000 and started learning the finer points of that application!!

I managed to get my second router so that demanded attention (they always do) then to delay the exam again, they updated the format with a new scenario.

So I hit the books twice as hard just to make sure, As the topic is so vast, there are still areas where I should know more that what I do so I'll keep on studying Active Directory for a long time to come.

It is a great sense of achievement, joining the W2K club!!!! Thanks once again Zaraspook.

No rest for the wicked, Exchange 2000 then the fine world of routing and switching for the next 12 months.

What is in store for you next?

Congrats! Welcome to the club. I found this exam one of the harder ones but not as hard as I thought.

I almost did not read your post due to the title, but I had to figure that you would not be posting free exam material. Congrats, where does that leave you for MCSE?

Thanks JoniF, thanks Jeff.

That was the last of the exams needed for the MCSE for Windows 2000.

I've been doing a lot of exchange 2000 work along side 219 so hopefully I will be sitting that exam shortly then it's on to Cisco for CCNA/P CCDA/P.

After that it will probably be time to start the .NET track!

Thanks again both.

Funny I just picked up some material and was starting on 224!!! Good luck!!!

Really? That is superb.

It is a lot easier than 5.5 in administration and configuration. The schema updates are common sense when you think about it. All the e-mail information associated with the user account is there with the user information without having one separate account in exchange and one in Windows.

There are some really great ideas in Exchange 2000.

Here's to a successfully exam buddy!

I think I'd like to start the Cisco track too, but right now I have so much on my plate that any kind of certification prep is out of the question, at least for the time being. When things settle back down a bit, I'll hit the certification track again. Maybe I'll buy those routers from you when you're finished?

I knew you would be able to pass 219. Welcome to club MCSE. It is great to have you as a member. 70-224 was a fun test and not that difficult, but you do need to prepare for it. Best of luck with your future exams.

For the advice and help over the past few months. Hopefully I will be able to get 224 out of the way before Christmas then it's onto Cisco for the best part of next year.

What are you up to at the moment?

Well, I just was offered a new position, so I am contemplating that decision right now. I was also considering the CCNA for my next exam, but I might consider Windows XP. Basically I am still recovering from my long stint with the MCSE. Maybe after the new year I will pursue something, and it will give me time to settle into my new position. Keep in touch.
