I do not seem to understand this i am performing one of my labs for manipulating user accounts.

I have one user account with logon restriction time another one has to change password at next logon and another account with a password expiration date.

apparently if these users are in the printer operators group they should b able to logon on the DC. I have tried this however it does not seem to work.

What is the message you receive when trying to logon? Is there more than one DC in the network? I don't remember if the print operators group has permissions to logon locally to the DC by default. Did you double check the DC Security policy to ensure the group can logon locally?

If it says something about Interactive logon denied then it sounds like a Security policy issue. There is a setting the Security policy that controls interactive logon.

Thanks for your reply,

The microsoft press book for 70-215 does not make any sense it states on page 327 "you add user accounts to the to the print operators group so that they can logon locally on the domain controller."

I'll double check my book to be sure about that. I have the 2nd edition (blue book), if you have the white book, there might be erratas.

It makes sense to me. The book is referring to the exercise to come. It is saying that in the exercise you will add user accounts to the Print Operators group so they can log onto the DC. By default, regular users cannot log onto a DC. If you do the lab, you will understand.
