has anyone experienced this problem?

if you give write access to a group that only had read access for a particular folder, those permissions do not propagate to the child folders within the folder that you applied the permissions to?

I often find that you have to remove the group and then reapply the group and the permissions to make it work

any thoughts

besides M$ = (_|_)?

On the child folders on the security tab you need to have the [Allow inheritable permissions from parent to propogate to this object] clicked.
