I am still having trouble with difference between connection object and site link. Can anyone point me to a good reference site that does a good job of differentiating these two with an indepth description.

you create connecton objects ot improve replication.....site links need to be created..you must create and delete links between sites for connections to occur...AD automatically creates and deletes links...a little confused :-)

Thanks

Building Site Link Bridges and Using Sites in Windows 2000 are two Brien M. Posey articles that go pretty indepth on the subject. Hope it helps!

A Site Link is a logical connection between sites configured in Windows 2000. It tells the NOS about the cost, scheduling and availability of low bandwidth connections between AD sites. The existence of a Site Link is a seperate issue from the actual physical link between sites.
A connection object is a specific connection between sites that we usually leave to the NOS.
