| Just wanted to say thanks for all of the awesome help that you guys and gals have given me over the past couple of weeks.
I just got back from my 217. It took me all of the allotted time, but it is done now I don't know when this stupid smile is going to wear off my face.
1 down, 6 to go for the MCSE
Be good,
MyoTechie | |

| You are brave for taking 70-217 first, thats pretty atypical. Anyways, excellent job, and good luck with the rest of the exams. | |

| Congratulations!!!
70-217 is your first exam? WOW!
What's next? | |

| Thanks guys!
I don't know what is on the menu yet, I will have to decide tomorrow I know the 217 was a little strange to do 1st, but I will be deploying AD very shortly at work and wanted a very good understanding of the system.
Also, funny story at the testing center....
From what I understood some testing centers let you bring in your own monitors. I thought that I might bring in my own just in case I got stuck with a 14" monitor.
I show up at the testing center (thankfully I left the monitor in the car) and asked if I would be allowed to retrieve it from the car.
They looked at me like I was nuts! I told them that a lot of people I knew brought in their own and they said that I was the first person ever to show up with one!

| I have never heard of bringing in your own monitor. LOL. I would look at you nuts too. Why would you want to do that? Just wondering. | |
| MyoTechie 2002-08-10, 5:50 pm |
| I had no idea what the test environment would be like and thought they might not have good equipment.
They have 15" monitors, so it was not too bad
My only complaint was the proctor blasted the AC to a artic 65 degrees. Now I love AC, but 65 degrees in a polo is chilly!

| Congrats on the pass. It's rather unusual to take the 217 first but hey, if you understand the material well enough to pass it who cares.
LOL...you're the first I've heard who brought in his own monitor to a test center.

| Congrats on your pass MyoTechie
I was just kidding about bringing my own monitor to the test center, but that's great that you actually did
It's usually a comment I leave on all my exams at the end. Rarely are my comments ever about the test (with the exception of the horrible exhibits during my A+ days), but usually asking MS to mandate at least 17" monitors at the testing centers to accomodate their sometimes longwinded questions and large exhibit windows.

| I really should have given some feedback, but my hands were shaking be the time I got to the feedback section.
You think that you are going to get your results when you press the end exam button... but no!!! more questions arg! hehe..
I had been focusing my efforts so much on AD that I did not even look to see what happens after the exam. Does MS mail info about the MCP cert I obtained (I have heard something like about 8 weeks)?
Thanks,

| What a great start! Outstanding job MyoTechie! I received my MCP certificate in about 4 weeks and my MCSA in about the same. You can go here to access the MCP secure site and access your transcript. Be aware that you may have to allow a few days for the testing service you used to update Microsoft though. Best of luck on the next one! By the way, what's next? | |
| MyoTechie 2002-08-10, 10:28 pm |
| Hey Zaraspook,
Thanks!
I am thinking about going for the 210 and 215. I have already studied for them (I read for all of the core exams and ended with AD, one of the reasons it was my 1st exam).
I will feel a ton more comfortable with pro and server, seeing as how I can relate (AD was tough because I am not running sites in London, Boston and Tokyo ).
What are you currently working on?

I would have gotten up and complained. It's part of the testing centers responsibilities to ensure the testing environment is as comfortable as possible. You didn't get a survey at the end? I would have made the appropriate comments.

| I probably should have, but instead I got up and adjusted the thermostat myself. Thankfully I was the only person testing, so nobody minded | |
