I'm having some trouble getting the concepts behind Site links vs. site Bridges.

From my understanding, site links group two individual sites into one "big" site. for example, you could link production and shipping sites by using a site link and create a "bigger" site called Logistics.

Site bridges are what actually control replication and define when and how much replication takes place between the sites.

Am I way off, or just in need of guidance?

A LAN would be considered a site, the WAN connections between 2 LANs would be the Site Link. A Site Link Bridge is two or more site links together that use the same protocol. HTH -- Pete
