I was reviewing an Exam Cram book and was taken by this statement from an answer to one of the test questions:

"Directory connectors are used to connect different types of directory services, such as Active Directory and Novell Directory services"

Does anyone have any more information on this? Like.. HOW??? I can't find it anywhere in my references.

You will probably find more information outside of what you are studying for 217. For example there is ADC which connects Exchange 5.5 to Active Directory. You probably won't have any specific questions on 'connectors' on the exam, especially to the point of details. The concepts to get a hold of are:
a) Active directory is not proprietary to Microsoft, it is based on open standards that allow two way interaction with other directory services.
b) The move is on in the industry for 'super directories' that reach beyond the individual enterprise, spanning the entire internet, based on access priviledges and identity management. Example, you log on to your network and are authenticated by your domain controller. Your company may have trust agreements such that you can access directory information managed by an entirely different organization, without having to authenticate again with that organization.
