ipsec:

Three predefined IPSec configurations are provided for computers that are members of a Windows 2000 domain:

Client
Server
Secure Server

i understand the theory of all this but i´m now confused with the therms explained on trascender about secure server:

"The Secure Server policy should be assigned to a computer that requires secure outgoing communications at all times. This computer uses IPSec for all communications that it initiates, but it can receive communications
that are not secure."

i´m now confused: the secure server allows to receive comunications not secure???????

Here's how I got it:

The effects of assigning the "Client (Respond Only)" policy is that the server will respond if asked.

The effect of assigning the "Server (Request Security)" policy is that if you have IPSec then I'll use it. If not the communication will still go through.

The effect of assigning the "Secure Server" policy is that communication happens with IPSec or it doesn't happen at all.
