Author Security Logs
me? I dunno...

I have enabled a domain policy for auditing of successful/unsuccessful logon attempts, but can only view the security log from the local dc. I cant access the local logs from clients on the domain. I have tried terminal services but that seems to be a one way arrangement from client to server rather than vice versa. There must be a way to view the local client logs from a domain controller, after all, they are members and this is a domain policy.

All users can view the application and system logs, however only administrators can get access to the security log.

The problem isn't accessing the logs, but monitoring overall domain activity from a single event viewer.

the security log on my dc wasn't showing failed logon attempts on client even though domain auditing policy was configured. Client machine shows failed logon attempts, as configured from the dc, but domain controller only shows it's own records.

I don't see a local/domain option.

I think I know what you're talking about. If you bring up "Event Viewer", you can right click on "Event Viewer (Local) which will bring up "Connect to another computer". From there you can view the security log of other computers from the dc.
