| I passed 217. Wasn't real easy! A wide variety of info, mainly GPO's. Know your A,G,(G),(U),DL,P and the difference between mixed mode and native mode, etc.

| Hey - congrats for passing 217 - Who u kidding about it not being easy!!?? I got my test tomorrow so i guess i am taking a chance saying that... i am sure it aint hard - one last thing... if i have to know my G (G) U P D M L i am XXXXed cos i don't know what you meant lol!! | |

| Just the basic's, didn't mean to confuse anyone, but here it is in a nutshell:
A,G,DL,P -
In mixed mode (NT4.0 and W2K), (A)ccounts go in to (G)lobal Groups and Global Groups go into (D)omain (L)ocal Groups and you assign (P)ermissions to Domain Local Groups.
A,G,G,U,DL,P
In native mode (W2K only) two things can be added, (A)ccounts go in to (G)lobal Groups and Global Groups can be put into (G)lobal Groups and/or (U)niversal Groups, and Global/Universal Groups go into (D)omain (L)ocal Groups and again you assign (P)ermissions to Domain Local Groups.
And also don't forget your L,S,D,OU (Local, Site, Domain, Organizational Unit)...

219 was more like a mid morning snack - and yeh - i did pass 217. I am feeling real hungry at the moment so i have stupidly booked 215 and 216 for next week. If they don't fill me i guess i just keep eating - later | |

| Hey, what ever works for you. I only have two electives left to get my cert. I'm doing Exchange 5.5 and SQL7. These were the electives planned for the course I'm taking. Otherwise, I would have gone with Exchange and SQL 2K. | |

i think i will do SQL 2k after this... i want to do the mcdba. Is SQL 7 not out of date now? forgive my ignorance but if i pursue the mcdba thing its just to add to my cv... i don't really know whats involved etc.. |
