DC1 is configured to host a standard primary DNS zone. DC2, a Member Server, is configured to host a secondary DNS zone.

DC1 is taken offline for maintenance. You see that clients on the network are unable to be authenticated by DC2. What is the the problem?

A. The DNS zone has not been set up to support dynamic updates. Because of this, DC2 did not get registerd in DNS and thus cannot be located by clients seeking authentication.

B. The DNS zone has not been set up to support secure dynamic updates. In order for records to get properly replicated in a native mode environment, you must set your DNS zones to support secure updates.

It can only have one answer and they both look good to me. In fact they look identical to me. Any ideas?

Secure dynamic updates are only applicable to Active Directory intergrated zones. So the answer would be obvious now.

The Keywords are highlighted in Bold:

DC1 is configured to host a standard primary DNS zone. DC2, a Member Server, is configured to host a secondary DNS zone.

Here are my thoughts:-
From this information they are not running Active Directory Integrated DNS thus as dentonb2000 quite rightly points out there is only one possible answer A:

DC1 is taken offline for maintenance. You see that clients on the network are unable to be authenticated by DC2. What is the the problem?

A. The DNS zone has not been set up to support dynamic updates. Because of this, DC2 did not get registerd in DNS and thus cannot be located by clients seeking authentication.

B. The DNS zone has not been set up to support secure dynamic updates. In order for records to get properly replicated in a native mode environment, you must set your DNS zones to support secure updates.

Hope this one helps...dam you beat me to this one Dent2K
