uppose i have a win 2k server i make it a primary DNS server
then i make another windows 2000 server as secondary DNS server
now someone tell me whether zone transfers between the two will be incremental
zone transfer or full zone transfer . in which case full zone
transfers take place .some document say that incremetal zone transfer
take place only in active directory integrated zone and not between
primary and secondary dns server in windows 2000

It should be an incremental zone transfer since IXFR is supported by Windows 2000. AXFR only occurs when one of the systems doesn't support IXFR.

It will be IXFR, Although the initial transfer that takes place between the primary and secondary servers will be a full(AXFR) transfer as they have to synchronize their databases.

AXFR transfers will take place with NT4 DNS servers and also with older versions of BIND DNS Servers.

Rama,

IXFR transfers were one of the improvements in DNS from the NT days.

IXFR transfers occur on primary/secondary zones and AD integrated zones.
