| I passed the 70-218 exam yesterday, 987 /1000 !!!!
I expected it to be alot harder, i used M$ Book, exam cram 2, CBT nuggets and EasyCert, plus lots of hands on fiddling with IIS/DNS and GPOs.
I was going to take the Security+ exam to finish off my MCSA but now i'm thinking its best to do the 70-216 now because alot of 70-218 is on 70-216, isnt it ?
I know its more difficult and indepth but considering i got 987/1000 i think i stand a good chance !!
What do you think ?
Also, recommended books for this exam ?
I'm definetely getting Exam cram 2 again and probably M$ book, is that enough, is the M$ book(second edition)complete enough ?
Also, Lab wise, what should i have ?
I have 3 PCs to play with....make them 2 DCs and one client ???
Many thanks Guys
I hope to slay this beast by easter at latest..

| You should be able to do 216 with two DCs and a client in the lab. The books you mention are probably fine for 216. My old ExamCram did not cover subnetting, but refered to another book for that. Don't expect 216 to be like 218 however. 218 is reported to be pretty easy in comparision. 216 covers a lot of different topics that are vital to making a 2k network work, so dig deep. | |

| Red,
216 is nothing like 218.
218 is a cakewalk. I took it without studying the second day it came out (MCSA charter member baby!).
216 is much much more in depth. It also covers more topics. Just don't take it lightly because it would be a shame to fail it and waste the exam fee.
I used M$ Administrator's Companion when I took 216.

| 216 is nothing like 218! it is the BEAST )
but, you know the path already - hands on experience, good books/study guides and EasyCert
good luck! | |

| Coming straight from 218 you should have a good basic knowledge, but there is a lot more to it. Keep going they way you have though and you should be fine. Don't be too laid back and work hard for a few weeks and it'll be yours. | |

| Hi,
I passed 70-218 exactly like you. But i passed it after passing 70-216.
And what can I say ?
70-218 is most easy one of my all exams,
70-216 is hardest.
Think about it.
good luck
